This FDA-authorized innovative technology, called photobiomodulation, delivers specific wavelengths of light to the retina, targeting cellular function to help improve visual performance.

Clinical studies have demonstrated benefits in visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, and overall quality of life in patients with dry AMD. Our team has been involved in early research and clinical efforts that helped bring photobiomodulation therapy into mainstream care for dry AMD. This means you’re not only receiving an innovative treatment—you’re receiving it from a provider with specialized knowledge and firsthand experience in its development. Treatments are performed in-office, are painless, and require no injections or surgery. Each session is brief, usually 2 to 4 minutes, and patients can return to normal activities immediately afterward. Dilation of the pupils is not necessary.
