MYOPIC PROGRESSION / CONTROL
Myopic Progression/Control
Myopia (nearsightedness) is becoming increasingly common in children, making it necessary for them to wear glasses or contact lenses to see clearly at distance. As children grow, myopia often progresses, making the vision worse and the glasses thicker. The good news is that with newer treatments now available, it can be managed—not just corrected. Our myopia control program goes beyond standard glasses and contact lenses by using specialized treatments designed to slow the progression of nearsightedness over time. FDA-approved myopia control daily wear contact lenses and advanced spectacle lenses work to gently guide eye growth, helping slow the progression of myopia and reduce the risk of future vision complications.
By starting early and tailoring treatment to each patient’s needs, we aim to protect long-term eye health while providing clear, comfortable vision every day. Whether your child is newly diagnosed or experiencing a rapid change in prescription, we’re here to help you take a proactive approach to their vision and their growing eyes.
Our Optical Department is introducing two new next-generation options for young children ages 7 – 14.
