Light Adjustable Lens

The Light Adjustable Lens is a new, unique type of advanced technology IOL designed to allow patients to “test drive” their vision after cataract surgery. After your cataract surgery has been performed and your eye has healed adequately, the Light Adjustable Lens can be adjusted utilizing a safe, easy and painless procedure right in the office. Your vision can be fine tuned in the office up to three times, to give you vision that is best for you and your day to day life.  All other IOL’s that can be implanted at the time of cataract surgery are selected on the basis of pre-operative measurements and calculations, and cannot be changed once inside the eye; the Light Adjustable Lens is the only IOL that you can evaluate after your surgery on a day-to-day basis in the real world, then discuss with your doctors and make adjustments so that your vision is tailored precisely to your lifestyle and preferences. Naturally, no man-made lens is going to be quite as good as the one you were born with, but this first state-of-the-art adjustable IOL will maximize your vision and, if you choose, make you as independent of glasses or contact lenses as possible.
