Multifocal IOL’s
Multifocal IOLs are designed to help you see near, far and in between with minimal dependence on glasses or contact lenses. Studies show 80-90 percent of patients who have this type of lens do not have to wear glasses post-procedure, with the remaining 10-20 percent typically needing glasses part time to maximize their vision for reading or for distance.
Multifocal IOL’s, as well as toric (astigmatism correcting) IOL’s are considered advanced technology or premium lenses, which provide patients (at the time of cataract surgery) a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to minimize dependence on glasses or contact lenses.
No man-made lens is going to be quite as good as the one you were born with, but these state-of-the-art IOL’s will maximize your vision and, if you choose, make you as independent of glasses or contact lenses as possible.
