Dr. Stephen Pollack has been practicing at his Williamsville, New York office since 1986. After earning his undergraduate degree in Psychology at Brandeis University, Dr. Pollack attended medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine, and remained in Buffalo for his Internship training at the Erie County Medical Center, and Residency at SUNY Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine. Dr. Pollack received multiple awards and held prestigious positions throughout Medical School and Residency.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Pollack has served as an officer, fellow or member of many local, state and national professional organizations, including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the Ophthalmological Society of the State of New York, and the Buffalo Ophthalmological Society. As a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Jacobs School of Medicine, Dr. Pollack has mentored residents, medical students, undergrads and high school students in the basics of medical and surgical ophthalmology.

Dr. Pollack firmly believes that personal, compassionate ophthalmic care can be State-of-the Art, yet hands-on and relaxed. He has surrounded himself with a loyal team of caring, hard-working staff, many of whom have been associated with the practice for more than 20 years. As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Pollack evaluates and treats patients for conditions which include glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye syndrome, diabetic retinopathy, and refractive conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia. Refractive, medical, laser and surgical techniques are utilized to customize patient care.

One of the primary focuses of the practice is refractive cataract surgery. Comprehensive evaluation and education of our cataract patients allows for a unique treatment plan tailored to each individual patient, utilizing blade-free, laser-assisted technique and a wide selection of multifocal and astigmatic intraocular lens implants at the state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center of Western New York, where Dr. Pollack is part owner and a member of the Board of Governors. This thorough, personalized approach enables Dr. Pollack to provide the best possible visual result, and the best chance for independence from glasses or contact lenses postoperatively.

An enthusiastic member of the Buffalo community since 1978, Dr. Pollack and his wife have raised their family locally, and have seen their three grown children return to Western New York after living elsewhere. He is a die-hard Bills and Sabres fan, and a consistent supporter of arts, restaurants and local causes.
